This knife book is amazing. It is beautifuly put together with history and and wonderful big pictures. I like how they told about how the knife was created and with what materials. It is great for anyone learning about custome crafted knives or a young boy who is really into knives. It shows them the unique qualities in different manufacturers, as well as how many materiels knives can be crafted from. These aren't your ordinary knives, these are art.

"Complete"? I think not!

Calling this a "Complete Encyclopedia of Knives" is a gross overstatement. How can a so-called encyclopedia leave out such trend-setting and notable knife makers as Ernest Emerson and Mick Strider? Very in-complete, at best. Don't waste your money.

Knife missing

The quality of these knives is about average. There are supposed to be 13 knives in the set. My set contained only 12. Am I going to return it? What a hassle that would be for one more knife. Do yourself a favor and order a different set.

Solid Knife Set

I was a bit skeptical purchasing this set of knives, since I'd never actually bought knives before. I was pleasantly surprised to find what a solid set these are! All of the knives are slightly serrated and cut really nicely. I have had no problems cutting freshly baked bread, fruit or steak with these knives. The wood block they come with is also nice and attractive. Highly recommend for anyone looking to purchase a solid set of knives for cheap!

great knives for your buck

These are a good value for a general kitchen. I don't know if an experienced chef would recommend them, but as a mom who cooks dinner every night, I find them very nice. I never knew that cutting potatoes could be so easy. :)

Great Knives for a Great Price

I ordered these knives based on the price factor, but also the quantity factor as well. I was trying to get as much as I could for as little money as possible. I was lucky enough to accomplish both! I had heard of Ginsu knives before as being sold on TV, but had never actually owned any. These are some great knives for the price! They come razor sharp out of the box and so far they have stayed that way for me. The knife block was a huge attraction as well. I am really happy with these knives, and while there are certainly much better quality knives out there, you will also be paying an arm and a leg and get half of what you get with this set.

I got this knife as a kind of look good knife just to show of to my friends. When i got it it was very sharp and over all sturdy knife. But for the price its even better then $100 knifes. If your looking for a flashy knife this is a good choice, if not, if you want it for your EDC don't get it, too heavy and not practical.

okay i just recieved this knife todaypros -nice solid frame, sturdy -sharp blade -nice blade tip... sharp aswell -can't beat the reactions on peoples faces when they see a real scorpion in the handle!!! AWESOME!!!!cons -heavy -wish there was a design on the backI bought this knife for show and thats what its intended for. its not my everyday knife i must say but a good choice if you want something wild

It's a good addition to the Lansky system. You still have to hold the mount and clamp, but not like you'd have to without the mount. Makes sharpening more comfortable.

Lansky Universal Mount is vital

This makes using Lansky's sharpening system twice as easy as it allready is. Let's face it the whole reason you love this system is because it puts a precise edge on your blade. This can fit in your carrying case when unscrewed also. When I first used the system without the mount, I hurt my hand holding the blade clamp. Now I don't have to hold it while sharpening anymore. I thought about getting the one that mounts to anything, but I wasn't so sure that it would fit in the case.

Don't sharpen without it

Without using this handy dandy stand, the Lansky sharpening system is just awkward. If you are gonna get the Lansky Universal Sharpening system, do yourself a favor and get one of these too.

Cumbersome to use. Ended up using the system without it after a few minutes. Not very sturdy and made the sharpener difficult to use. Maybe the C-Clamp model would be better

As claimed, this knife can just about do it all for a electrician. Put this on your belt or in your pouch and you can do away with several other tools, your klien strippers, etc. Good quality and it works.Imagine that, a product that does as advertised.

Earlier this year (09')a drunk driver killed my car and with it my TKT/TTEOTD Annihilation of Expectation CD. Both bands are in the same genre yet sound so unique. I just had to have another copy!In Oct of 07' my new husband and I walked down the aisle together in the recessional with the into to The Knife Trade playing proud and loud. My son almost fell out of his chair when he heard it.TKT's intro is amazing! What follows is raw death metal that rocks. Believe me, I'm not just saying this because my son Daniel Shroyer was the bass player on that CD for TKT; I'm saying it because anyone who wants to branch out musically should try this CD; TKT and TTEOTD are both going in a postive direction of which you may find your inspiration.Enjoy!

Through The Eyes Of The Dead are one of the most talentless metalcore bands you're likely to hear. They do a bit of the generic melodic death metal riffing, with a bit of a heavier death metal sound, and a hardcore element, but they just do it all so badly, the songwriting is so amazingly weak, I don't understand why anyone would ever choose to listen to this band when there's so many similar ones around, 90% of which are significantly better. I don't know why anyone signed them. I don't know why they even bother playing music.

I don't usually enjoy splits but I'll make an exception here as its as this is better than most.The Knife Trade probably should get the nod for the coolest intro track ever for the opener on their half of the album. In all honestly though, The Knife Trade really aren't anything you haven't heard before but for what they do, they do very well. The guitar work is impressive and I love the arpeggio sweeps and the dabbling in what sounds like some keyboard/synth work but I think the The Knife Trade would be much better off avoiding the clean vocals that they used in a few of the tracks. They just don't fit. Highlight track for The Knife Trade's half of the split would be "Off With Their Heads."Through The Eyes Of The Dead, who recently inked a deal with Prosthetic Records, have become a pretty mighty force in the independent music scene and they don't even have a proper full length out yet, a testament probably to where this band is going in the near future. Nevertheless, it appears that TTEOTD are experimenting more with their death metal influence more than anything here. The material is far more technical than that of their "Scars Of Ages" EP and the drumming is just flat out awesome. They still like to use their samples as we've got a clip from "From Hell" and I believe "American Psycho" as the other. I still can't help but think that TTEOTD are probably holding back some better material for their full length rather than unleashing it on the split though. Sounds like a warm up to me. "Abyssal Creation" serves as the highlight track on TTEOTD's half of the release.
