Is it true that you are allowed to carry knives if they are wrapped in sight?

Hello I recently learned that they are allowed to take leaves to any length, provided they are sheathed in sight - I was wondering if its reality true in the United Kingdom. (Is that I have no intention of going out with a long sword!) - Just out of curiosity. =]

I'm not sure about the UK In the States it is legal to carry a hunting knife "in sight while you are wrapped.

Great Knife, almost perfect for the price

by helms from on 2010-09-02
This is one great little pocket knife! Right when I pulled it out of the box I knew I had a made a great purchase. For $11 you cant beat it! The black was sharp, the knife is SUPER light, and has a great feel to it.The only two things I dislike about it is the certain screw you need to loosen/tighten it. Its hard to find and I have had a bad experience with those type of screws stripping in the past. Also, the clip is not flus with the top of the knife so if clipped to a belt, a little bit will stick above and it has a tenancy to poke you in the side.Other than that I love this little guy and will most likely buy another in the future!

A lot of bang for the buck...

by Joshua Jones from SEDONA, AZ, US on 2010-08-30
I mean, really, how can you beat it? A good quality, smooth opening pocket knife for like $10. This is my second one (lost the first one somewhere on a hike - it is smallish). No problems, lots of value.

High quality knife for a very low price!!!

by Alvaro Lachner from Costa Rica on 2010-08-28
This is a fantastic and high quality knife with a very low price tag. I bought to use it as a spare in my SUV so it is wonderful and I love that it is Smith and Wesson. This is perfect for an entry pocket knife or for spare use. Nonetheless, I wouldn't use this as my main pocket knife.

Smith and Wesson Blade

by Orion Nights from on 2010-08-27
I have owned several blades of this type. This knife is by far the best I have ever owned. The price was great, but the quality is even better. It is simple to open and close, and the clip hold very securely to everything. The grip is very comfortable and feels natural in my hands even when I have been sweating. I havent tried woodcarving yet with this knife, but I have used it for a variety of endeavors, it has not disappointed.

Screws came off in less than 2 weeks.

by Julie Ye from on 2010-08-25
So when i first got it, it looked pretty cool. Then, i just stopped using it for 2 weeks. Well, what do you know? Right after i tried to cut something after it idled for 2 weeks one of the screws just popped right off. And it wasnt just a little screw outside, it was inside the blade. So basically 10 bucks gone in 2 weeks

Great knife, but prepare to fix the pivot screw

by A customer in Seattle from on 2010-08-16
I bought this knife for my 14-year-old son, and he loves everything about it (and I certainly loved its low price!). But after two weeks of use, the screw on which the blade pivots loosened and fell out. Fortunately my son retrieved the part and handed all of it to me to be repaired. If this happens to you -- and enough users on Amazon have reported problems with these screws backing out that you might want to anticipate it -- you'll need a small Torx screwdriver (size "T8" to be precise) and a bit of Loctite, or similar thread locker (available at any hardware store or auto parts store). The blade is surrounded by a nylon bushing on each side. Once you make sure that those bushings are in place, put a drop of Loctite on the screw, and use the Torx driver to tighten it to just where you would like it -- tight enough to have little or no play, but loose enough that you can extend the blade with a flick of the wrist. I'd suggest using "removable" threadlocker rather than "permanent", just in case you ever want to change the screw adjustment. And use just a drop; you don't want to foul the nylon bushings that keep the blade moving smoothly.Incidentally, for those of you with video-game-playing kids, you might already own a T8 Torx driver, because it's the same tool that opens up an Xbox 360 controller. If you don't have one, you can get this one on Amazon for about five bucks: Silverhill Tamper Resistant Torx size T8 for Xbox 360 ControllerIn spite of this annoyance -- and it definitely IS annoying -- the knife is an awesome bargain, fully meeting my son's needs.

Sturdy and Comfortable

by John Gulledge from Molino FL USA on 2010-08-06
My first thought when I took this knife out of its box was wow, it's heavy feeling! When I say heavy IM talking about it feels sturdy, not cheap and flimsy. It's stiff to open but it's new, that'll work. When in open mode, the grip/handle is very comfortable, and it impressed me. It's stamped on the blade AMERICAN design, I liked that, wished it was made in the good ol USA! For the price, pick you up two. Nice sturdy comfortable, and affordable. Very pleased with this purchase so far!

Best pocket knife ever!!!

by Chris from riverside, ca on 2010-08-05
I bought this knife and am really pleased with my purchase. I was a little skeptical at first because of what others were saying but now I know that they are just ignorant when it comes to pocket knives. If you buy this pocket knife you wont be dissapointed.

you definetally get your money's worth out of this one. this knife is super durable, can fit in your pocket or palm and does not weigh much, it also has a little latch on the side for a quick draw of the blade. Over all i gave it 5 stars for durability, the comfert and style

stellitto knife

by Chris551 from on 2010-08-31
A very Good Knife for a CHEAP price! I was very happy with the M-tech but one flaw about this knife is that the screws came lose the first couple of days I got it,Also when I got this knife it was scratched!?! I mean like what the hell but there are some great things about this knife I love, like the style also once you learn how to open it with one hand it looks pretty cool and you can show off your knife skillz to your friends. Plus the stiletto was used by the mobs so if you want a stabing knife this is a great buy.

Started good but...

by ToneCapone from on 2010-08-27
Bought the item due to the low price. Was pleasantly surprised to see that the blade was sharp and folded out correctly. After a month of usage as my pocketknife I found a piece of the handle which looks awesome btw, had broken off near one of the screws. Needless to say I was dismayed. The knife itself looked good, and it came sharp but having the handle fall apart was not good.

I returned it, but still a decent knife.

by Vagabond from on 2010-07-28
I personally returned the knife - though from the short time I had it, it seemed like a well built knife. Just for my needs, and style of knife wielding it wouldn't have been enjoyable for me to own.Pros: Real nice pearl gray handle finish. Sturdy, built in belt/pocket clip. Belt clip is built. So it hands "upside" down. Nice sharp/thin bladeCons: Gray metal portion of handle is dull compared to pearl gray lower portion. The "button" that opens the knife should be a bit larger. It doesn't standout well enough to make the opening of the knife smooth. So its a bit time consuming. The button to release the blade back into place is also small and sluggish. Which makes it a bit of a dangerous knife - If trying to open and close it in a quick gesture. These are the reasons why I returned the knife, but M-Tech is also the company that I'm ordering my next knife from. Because though I disliked this knife. The workmanship of the knife isn't flawed. Just the mechanics for me, didn't work well.

Don't buy this knife

by J.Twain from on 2010-08-25
I had had this knife for a week and the pivot point broke after I chop a small branch in the wood. that is one thing. The knife won't stay sharp long ever after I just sharpened it. The blade was made out of cheap 440A stainless metal, very bad kind of metal that these day most knives from china made from.Don't buy this knife, but if you have to buy it. Here are some reason for it.It is pretty solid kind of knife, must better built than normal made in china knife. It is quite big and heavy in a way. and the linear locking mechanism is smooth and I feel good about it. The belt clip is nice and solid. that is all.

started comming apart with minimal use

by S. Nair from USA on 2010-08-07
I purchased it for my recent India trip.. it was for more show than use.. to scare away an would-be pick-pocketers etc.. Since guns are banned to public in India, I didn't have to worry about someone pulling a gun, so this knife served its purpose.Though, the knife was used only as show, it started cumming apart towards the end of my 1 month trip.. so if you want to use it for something, I would look elsewhere.

crap

by way2late from Truckee, CA on 2010-07-23
i ordered a knife and first it took 3 days longer to get here than expected, then i took it out and was flipping it and dropped it (3 feet) and it broke. 5 screws came out and 1 of the cylinders holding it together. im reall p****d off and hope for another knife from them soon.

DO NOT BUY!!!! REPEAT DO NOT BUY!!!

by crottychop from on 2010-06-13
i bought this about 9-10 months ago and only used it 3 times.. for cutting a small branch and prying 2 paint cans open. i was using it today when the 1 screw( holding the grip and the blade) SLID OUT and the blade fell and cut my leg. deep gash. and blood started to gush out and i had to go to the hospital for 3 stitches. DO NOT BUY. IT IS EXTREMLY CHEAP QUALITY. buy a better knife. it will save you more money in the long run. i also have pictures.

Large and flashy, but not very practical

by Lixian Xiong from New York, U.S.A on 2010-05-26
I bought this knife a while back, and haven't really had much chance to really test or use it until recently. When I first got the knife, I was very impressed by the size, design, and overall feel of it. Easy to open and close, mean looking blade, nice heavy feel in the hand. However, when I took it camping with me last week, I was very disappointed by its performance. When I clipped it to my belt, the first thing I immediately noticed was that since the clip is a good inch down from the top of the knife, the top would periodically jab into my waist when I walked or sat down, which was very annoying. Also, after two days of use cutting leaves and twigs from wood for tinder, the majority of the screws holding the knife have somehow managed to come loose, and 4 of them have fallen out without me noticing, causing the two halves of the handle to now wobble whenever I try to use it.But perhaps the most annoying of all is that now, for some reason, the knife refuses to open properly. When I flip out the blade, for some reason it doesn't extend far enough for the locking lever to snap in place, so now I can't lock the blade in position. Checking the knife reveals that this is not due to debris somewhere in the knife, so I can only assume that the missing screws allowed the knife to shift enough that the alignment is now off.Overall, I am dissatisfied with this product, having only managed to use it once, and I will be buying a sturdier if not as impressive knife now, either a Gerber or a Smith and Wesson.PROS: Large, serrated blade, heavy feel, aggressive lookCONS: Poorly designed and assembled, easily falls apart, uncomfortable to wear on belt.

good knife for a 10 year old

by steve from on 2010-09-01
sometimes cheap things are really expensive... what i mean is, lighting a cigarette with a $5 note is very expensive.. why would you do that?? get a $50.00 gold plated lighter and you can light packet after packet.the saw is a piece of rough wire.the fishing line would be rated for 1lb at the most and the hooks are very light as well...the compass is inaccurate and the handle is brittle.the sharpening stone is so small its a joke, and as for the "leather" pouch, well mine is vinyl but still probably the most expensive part of the item.do i recommend it... of course, for your 10 yr old son to run around the backyard pretending to be rambo, hours of entertainment, he will think your the best, and the thing is such a piece of crap he wont be able to hurt anything with it..

Paid $8.19 for this, better than I expected for that price

by K. Corn from Indianapolis,, IN United States on 2010-07-20
When I bought this, I knew I was taking a chance but I was pleasantly surprised. To be fair, my expectations were fairly low. Here's my pros and cons.PROS:I do believe that having this knife could help save someone's life. Would you need other items? Of course, but if the weather was not too cold and it didn't rain and you had a decent jacket with you, it would be totally possible to survive a few days with this. You have the basic supplies for fishing (hook, line) and even if you didn't have water nearby with plenty of fish, you aren't going to starve for a few days. We did scale a fish with the serrated blade and it did a fine job. So if you can catch fish, you can also scale them. The knife comes with a sharpening tool and you WILL need to use this. The point of the knife is definitely sharp enough to be used for defense, especially if an attacker didn't expect it. The saw works well enough (we tested it outside. So does the compass. The heft or weight of this knife was decent, too. For $8.19, it compact and useful. The carrying case is both convenient and comes with an attached rope if you needed to hang it from your belt or perhaps somewhere in a tent or elsewhere Now the downsides.....CONS:The photo on the package shows matches and so does the product photo. To be fair, the product description notes Amazon clearly says that matches are NOT included. However, having both the package and item photo which includes matches is misleading. The package itself even noted that matches were included. They were not. So they are NOT included but easy enough to add.The handle of this is plastic. I don't know how well that would hold up with heavy use. But for $8.19, I'd use this as a supplement to other tools. Like I wrote before, I didn't expect much and this was heavier and the blade far more solid than I anticipated. The blade needs to be sharpened after each use.

Cant imagine what you could possibly use this knife for, considering its shae and size, and paint comes off easily, but very cool looking and charmingly built. sharp as hell, too! a cool buy if ur building a collection, but not a habdy pocket folding knife by any means.

You get what you pay for.

by Bill D. Smith from New Mexico on 2010-06-09
This knife is everything you would expect from a $3.34 knife. It is made from cheap materials and the construction is somewhat ragged, and some of the handle edges can be a little sharp and uncomfortable, but let's get real; you are not going to buy this knife because you are looking for your next great utility tool. This is strictly a show piece and from that standpoint it is a really unique design, which is why I bought it. You will get what you pay for, and for $3.34 it's a cool knife for display.

a very interesting piece.

by Timothy P. Hall from USA on 2010-04-25
it may be very flashy, but I would definitely not be one to carry it with me. the blade is much larger than expected, and is nearly the length of the handle itself. the handle is not made of plastic as some of the others said, only the white ridged part on the back of the handle. the rest is some sort of metallic substance which i could care less to research. it does come very sharp(i dropped it a few times on my hand, it did a number on my wrist)and my blade didn't close when i swung it violently. but all in all, I read the reviews and got it. I was definitely satisfied.

Not bad for the price

by bubblegutz from on 2010-08-01
Good knife for the price. Did not come with much of an edge but after sharpening, it will hold one nicely. Has a good wight to it and the starter makes a good spark. I would recommend putting some sort of guard in the sheath or upgrading the sheath altogether. Overall good buy.

Good knife

by Travis from USA on 2010-07-09
The blade is sharp and seems to be decent quality. I cut the rope off close to the handle just because I don't like it hanging around and the fire starter worked great.

Good and serviceable

by JJ from on 2010-07-05
This Knife is a good serviceable/usable blade. It works as expected. Make sure to read the description - I did not (my own fault) - it was shorter and smaller than I was expecting. That is the only reason for the 4 stars.

Good knife, bad sheath

by DoubleTrouble from on 2010-06-30
The knife itself is pretty awesome, for a smaller multi-purpose knife. However, it had already stabbed through the sheath by the time it had gotten to us. It is a simple woven cloth sheath so you can't expect much. So, overall, good knife but the sheath could be better quality. Not bad for the price though.

great knife

by Michael D. Vertal from on 2010-05-22
I got this knife just in case I might need it. I am fine with the grip but it could be better and I don't like the sheath. Overall good knife.

This Is A Cheap Knife. It Looks Good But It Is Not Sturdy. After Having It For A Week It Broke. Im Not Sure Why But I Took It Out Of My Pocket & Blade Release Button Broke. I Recommend People to Buy the Real Stiletto Switch Blade!!!

NOT WHAT I ORDERED

by Jormungandr from on 2010-04-18
I got my order fairly quick, but didn't get the knife I ordered! I will however let it slide, because I did get a pretty sturdy knife, but I would like some sort of compensation, as it is not as good as what I ordered.

Good Quality, But A Major Disapointment

by Angry Bald Guy from Camp Lejeune, NC USA on 2010-03-17
when i first bought this knife, i thought i was getting a switchblade. i was wrong. it just looks like a switch. it is actually a replica knife. now don't get me wrong, this knife is great. it is well put together, sharp, and durable. i'm still wondering what i'll need 11'' of knife for, but hey, i'll find out something. but the problem with it is 1, it's hard to open. if it were a switch, it would be much easier. this knife being hard to open makes it pretty useless. 2, the locking meckanism. i swear a retard put this together. it is very hard to close, seeing as how it requires two hands to do. and 3, it's not a switch! it looks like a switch, say it a switch, but it's not a switch. so over all a good knife, but misguiding and not very usefull. this knife will spend alot of time on my shelf

Horrible rip off for two reasons.

by Michael Sliger from San Jose, CA on 2010-01-30
This was the worst knife I've ever purchased. I was under the assumption that this was an Italian made Falcon brand stiletto. In fact this was a cheaply made Chinese brand. After my initial disappointment of discovering this was'nt the knife I thought it was, I soon discoverd the stiletto locking mechanism was'nt catching the blade pin at the back of the blade. This left the knife partially ajar when it was opened. After opening and closing the knife a few times, the blade pin fell off, leaving the knife completely worthless. Thanks for nothing!

Defective product-disappointed with service

by D.D. Johnson from on 2009-12-23
Before ordering this knife I read the reviews and thought I would be very satisfied. My order was delivered in 4 days (holiday season). Upon receiving the item I looked it ove and was pleased by what I saw. I opened the knife and it is easy to open an locks tightly. I opened it a second time and when I depressed the thumb lever to unlock the blade the "locking pin" on the blade hilt broke off!!!!. I tried to contact the supplier (Cheap Humidors) but was informed by the answering machine office hours are M-F 8-5 EST. I called the following day at 4:30 to ask about returning the product and the person on the other end told me to send an e-mail as the person who dealt with returns was not available. I sent the e-mail (this was a Friday) and did receive a prompt response by Monday afternoon saying this would be dealt with shortly. the following Thursday I sent another e-mail asking about the status and that I wished to return the defective product . The response was they were sending another product at no cost. Currently I only have the broken knife(which is still functional but the blade doesn't feel secure) and no satisfaction as I am still waiting for the replacement.

This is one of the most handy pocket knives that ive owned. it doesn't have a plastic handle which makes it very durable. the handle is some sort of metal or aluminum. great for camping or backpacking.

Solid Knife

Pretty good knife, doesn't have any problems with it after many times of being opened/used. It has many visible screws that can be tightened/adjusted, and it is overall a perfect knife to me.

Great for the price

First, check the prices. Some stores sell this for more and most sell it for around $5. Great knife for the price, no its not a name brand. But works just like one and very affordable. Buy from qswords and not the other stores. Very fast USPS shipping.

I have an obsession with knives the box says super knife i wouldnt go that far but still very good for the pricenow to the idiots saying the "button" doesnt work its not a button its a switch push down not forward if you're haveing that much trouble after doing what i said loosen the screw by the blade if you didnt understand that you fail mechanics 101 and addressing the linear lock mine is fine but i know a knives construction and the downfall came with a size constraint because the lock will not lock for me unless A. i want a permanent fix and grind away at the bottom of the blade B. i use the switch to allow he rather fast and aggressive spring to shake the lock in place C. if i open it manually fling it in the same aggressive way the spring would again shaking the lock in place that being said ITS SIX DOLLARS your not going to be getting a buck or a benchmade your getting as the box says "super knife best quality stainless steel blade" i bought from qswords maybe they did something awesome to it before hand i dont know but i also dont understand the other reviewers gripes other than maybe under heavy use not holding an edge simply because its a six dollar knife

rarely give a review but this deserves one

it's cool, very sharp & big. i was looking for a replacement pocket knife and thought this one looked different. it is! if you like a preserved scorpion, which i do, but thought not for daily use. it barely fits in my front pocket but has a clip that keeps it in place. now i carry it everywhere. besides it's intimidating and gives me feeling of security.all in all, i've become used to its design that always gets fascinating comments. plus it can cut through almost anything. so please be careful...you can lose a finger or skin! i opened a box shipped to me and it cut through the cardboard like butter.now my whole family wants one as a family 'tradition'. if it continues to surprise me #clean cuts, art stays intact, not break#, it will be the gift i give. yet, it's not perfect. opens nicely if you use your thumb and index finger #won't flip open or close#. heavy. once again, big for a pocket knife.

It Has a Pocket Clip!!!!

by Anitaatorres from Idaho on 2010-05-01
I was hesitant about purchasing the Knife, Because It personally would be a downfall for me if there wasnt a clip on it, Since it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon (but if you can see the clip outside your pocket your perfectly fine.)When it arrived in the mail, I was So impressed. I bought this for my birthday and wow.The design is amazing, it isn't flimsy at all its actually slightly heavy and durable, and the blade is sharp! The price just makes it even more amazing. I would have easily paid 15-20$ if this was on a shelf at the store.5 Star! :D

Sweet Knife

I love this knife ... first of all it's cool as heck with a scorpion in the handle, but more importantly then that is that the handle feels good in my hand. the knife is perfect for carrying around and is not too heavy also you can can show it off and people will think it's cool as well

Sharp

I got this as a gift for my brother, who is a scorpio. He really liked the detailing and found hte knife to be sharp and effective (pointy and all).
